The McDonald's Corporation, head quartered in the United States, is the world's largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, serving around 68 million customers daily in 119 countries across 35,000 outlets. It has has its share of criticisms, but McDonald's has increased shareholder dividends for 25 consecutive years, making it one of the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats. It has more than 250 locations in India.
I visited this location situated on the very busy main road of the Lokhandwala Complex. Having existed here since a decade or so, this site has developed its own core value within the larger universe of the brand. People from all, I mean all age groups are seen frequenting the restaurant at any moment of time.

We called for a Mc Veggie meal - medium size, costing me Rs 134. This got me a Mc Veggie Burger, a pack of french fries and a medium glass of cold drink, which was Fanta.
The Mc Veggie Burger was a crisp, thick, breaded patty made of green peas, carrots, green beans, onions, potatoes and spices, with mayonnaise and lettuce, sandwiched in a sesame toasted bun. If you turn a blind eye to the whopper of a 424 calories, this was yummy every bit bite. The french fries were, well, french fries. Deep fried, golden, crispy, salted. A second bite revealed that they were a tad too salted for my taste.

We also called for a McPaneer Royale meal (INR 207). This had a scheme running of a Mc Flurry Oreo free along with it.
The McPaneer Royale had soft paneer, slightly grilled and marinated with mild French herbs. Topped with a creamy cheese and onion sauce, assorted crispy lettuce salad, tomato roundels and jalapeno slivers. And this was sandwiched in fresh corn meal dusted buns. Though this was extremely delicious, I could not but rue about the incongruent proportion of the stuffing with the bun.

The Mc Flurry Oreo, on the other hand, was an unmagical concoction of synthetic vanilla ice cream mixed with crumbs of Oreo cookies. Quite unimpressive.
The verdict: I approve. Not only was the food good, the prices are decent, the ambiance fair and the chain conforms to international standards in terms of service and hygiene. A bevy of employees fluttered around for any eventuality and today every table was decked with a hand sanitiser. I shook hands with the McDonald's mascot, Ronald McDonald, seated smilingly on a bench within.
