Tibb's has been the brain child of one Mr Amarjit Singh Tibb, as their website informs. They have been in the business since 1969, and have made many innovations on the original product since then. A lot of varieties have been introduced, the brand has made forays in the malls and multiplexes in the country and the footprint has been expanded to 250 outlets. They have also started their operations in Dubai.

They have a few Veg and Non Veg options.These cannot be strictly termed as variety as the basic form of the frankie remains the same. The variations are many though, and customised basis the Indian flavors. So in the chicken option you have a Chicken plain, then Chicken Bhuna, Chicken Chilly, Chicken Tawa, Chicken BBQ, Chicken Tikka and Chicken Schezwan. Plus all of these have their With - Added - Cheese counterparts as well. I call for a Chicken Frankie - INR 80. I witness the frankie making in process, the tawa heating of the pre cooked rotis followed by a mere hint of egg spread atop. Next come in a pinchful of finely chopped onions, further garnished with a liberal dose of chaat masala. Then you have the chicken gravy spread over, the frankie is rolled, wrapped in a thin polythene pouch and further enveloped in the Tibb's cardboard mini container. And voila! You have a Frankie. The taste to be fair, is great. One bite of it evaporates all the hunger pangs, and what is left is only for savoring. You gobble it up and you find that within a few bites, it is quickly gone. |

The verdict:
Try as they may, the principals have so far been unsuccessful in shrugging off the street-food tag. The only two blogs on their website label this brand so too. This particular outlet was being manned by three people, who came across as less than refined gents. The second grouse is their quantity quotient. Their frankie, on its own, might seem decent, but when compared with the highly acclaimed Breadkraft of Lokhandwala, pales in comparison. For the same price, at Breadkraft, you get twice as much a sumptuous meal and also with more number of variants.
